Dear Wrimos of Seattle,
In NaNoWriMo, we issue two crowns each year. One goes to the wordiest region, and the other goes to the most philanthropically generous region (in a woefully self-centered gesture, we measure philanthropy entirely by donations to the Office of Letters and Light).
This year, as in previous years, Seattle is wearing both crowns. You guys really know how to take NaNoWriMo to the next level, don't you? And I can't thank you enough for doing so. Your peerless commitment to noveling inspires (and, frankly, terrifies) writers around the world. And your support of NaNoWriMo and the Young Writers Program means we were able to help 140,000 kids, teens, and adults realize their creative potential this fall.
Seattle is also the corporate matching gifts capital of the NaNoWriMo world. I want to extend a special thanks to those of you who have gone to the trouble of doubling your donation by filling out those onerous forms that help your employer match your contribution to our bookish mission.
Your donations will do great things for the Office of Letters and Light as we write our way into NaNoWriMo's 11th season of literary adventures.
Thanks for rocking it this year, Seattle.
Chris
